A baker’s dozen students from OWG, Tacoma Weavers Guild, and Seattle Weavers Guild gathered at the Griffin #2 fire station on Steamboat Island Road to learn how to transform handwoven fabric into clothing, taught by award-winning weaver, clothing maker, author. and renowned teacher Daryl Lancaster.  Putting aside warping boards and looms for cutting boards and sewing machines, the class learned to happily cut into their prized handwoven yardage to make a vest that not only looks good, but fits well.

The class runs through today (April 15th).  Thursday, Daryl will teach a separate class on clothing finishing techniques, and will present the program at the regular guild meeting at North Olympia, on creating great garments from handwoven cloth.
